Title VI Grant & Indian Education Council

The Lemoore Union High School District is responsible for providing your children with an exceptional high school education. The Federal Government requires the Lemoore Union High School District to have Indian Education Policies and Procedures (IPP) in place. The IPP plays an important role. The policy ensures there is communication and input regarding the education of our Native American students between the families and the Lemoore Union High School District. We ask that you review the enclosed draft of the IPP and provide the District with your input. If you have ideas, thoughts, questions, or concerns, the Lemoore Union School District staff would appreciate you taking the time to communicate that information to us in writing. You may write the information on this form and have the form returned to the Lemoore Union High School District office, or you are welcome to email your comments, concerns, or questions to [email protected] by the last Friday in September. The IPP will be approved by the LUHSD Board at their November Board meeting. This information can be found on the district webpage at https://www.luhsd.k12.ca.us/

JOINT INDIAN EDUCATION COUNCIL

⧫ Partnership Members ⧫

Santa Rosa Rancheria ~ Lemoore Union High School District ~ Central Union Elementary School District

Lemoore Union High School District makes various opportunities available for parents to provide their views on educational programs and activities, including recommendations on the needs of their children and on how the District may help those children realize the benefits of the educational programs and activities.
One opportunity is through council meetings.  Each year, an Indian Education Council (IEC) consisting of members from the Lemoore Union High School District provides an opportunity for the Tachi-Yokut Tribe and parents of Indian children to meet.  The council schedules a minimum of seven meetings during the school year to address the comments and concerns of parents of Indian children regarding the District's educational programs and activities.
Meeting dates are subject to change.  If you have questions, please contact
Valerie Botelho, Assistant Superintendent
