Distribution of Materials within the District
Lemoore Union High School District is frequently contacted with requests to support local businesses and for-profit and non-profit organizations who wish to disseminate flyers or advertisement material to students and/or employees. While we recognize the importance of partnerships with these businesses and organizations, the District is unable to grant all of these requests.
Lemoore Union High School District’s Governing Board has an established a policy (BP – Advertising and Promotion) related to the distribution of material in our schools. The policy allows that the Superintendent may approve noncommercial materials that publicize services, special events, public meetings or other items of interest to students or parents/guardians, promotional material of a commercial nature to students or parents/guardians, paid advertisements on school property and in school sponsored publications/announcements of a commercial nature, and products and materials donated by commercial enterprises for use in the classroom as long as they serve an educational purposed and do not unduly promote any commercial activity or product.
Prior to distribution or publication, the Superintendent shall review and approve all advertising copy and promotional materials to ensure compliance with the Board policy.
All materials to be distributed shall include the name and contact information of the sponsoring entity. In addition, all materials shall include District “Hold Harmless” language.
The use of approved promotional materials or advertisements will not imply District endorsement of any identified products or services.
